Over the past few years our family has had the joy of traveling with the Macfadyen and Shalley families: Uganda, Atlantis and Motiongate (Dubai), Seychelles, desert camping, Muscat, Thailand (2xs), and more. Basically when the Macharleys get together, we have fun.
This Thailand trip was planned a year ago, in anticipation of getting in one more adventure together before another High School graduate leaves for the other side of the world. We keep losing them one by one, but thankfully the Shalleys are still adding to the numbers on their end. On this trip we gathered everyone from around the globe and 17 of us met up at “Bob’s house” for vacation (not my Bob, but the one who owns the house).
As the Macfadyens are leaving Oman this week (after 14 years!), we know that our extended family tribe will never be the same, but it could get even better. They are moving to Bogata, Columbia and I’m hoping we can Macharley together in South America. Maybe hike Machu Picchu with the little ones on our backs?
