Lord I pray for the teens and youth of UAE, that they would grow in wisdom and in likeness of you. I pray that this time of quarantine and sheltering wouldn’t stunt their spiritual and emotional growth, but that you’d protect them as they are enduring a world crisis during this time of crucial development. I pray they would grow up to be bold and strong of faith, spiritual risk takers, and passionate about following you wherever you lead. I ask that they would be grounded in your word, have a strong foundation of scripture, and be able to share with those who don’t know you why they have your peace and your love for the world.
Father, help this next generation lead the world in revival. I pray that they would reject the emptiness of what this world has to offer and instead would be focused on things that bring eternal joy. Please give them eyes to see the needs of those around them, compassion for others, and a servant spirit.
I pray for those who are discouraged and feeling lost at this time. When the world feels like an unsafe and unpredictable place, when the path they have expected to walk has turned unexpectedly, and they don’t know where to turn next. I pray for those who feel that all their effort in school has been a waste and are frustrated with exams being cancelled and dreams that have ended. Lord, please show them a better way. Be their anchor as they are drifting. Be their security and safety in a world that is not.
Help them to know the truth of Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ( Seeds Family Worship song link)
I pray for parents. That you would give us wisdom, grace, and patience to parent and guide these kids into adults that love, serve and follow you. 3rd John 1:4 “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” I pray that my joy continues and multiplies from generation to generation as my children and children’s children know, love, serve, and follow Christ.
I pray for the hardships that they will face. That they will never give up or abandon their faith in you, but that you would sustain them, guide them, and be even more real to them as a result of their trials. May they have many stones to look back on (yes, ebenezers, even though I hate that word) that mark the times that you have been faithful to them.
I pray that they would find their identity and worth in you. That they wouldn’t be influenced by those in the world whose offerings are only a fleeting mist. That they would know that they are a beautiful unique creation, made in the image of God. One of a kind, irreplaceable, and completely loved by the creator of the universe. I pray that their minds would be strong and steadfast and that they wouldn’t be swayed by the world or listen to the lies that they are worthless and unlovable as they are. I pray that your word would appeal to them above all else and that they would know the truth. Not a truth or their truth or someone else’s truth, but the Only Truth which comes from you.
I pray for this next generation of leaders in the world and in the church. I pray that you would prepare them for whatever they are going to face. I pray they would be wise, full of peace, not angry or reactionary, but full of the fruit of the spirit. I pray this next generation would be better spiritual leaders than the current one. That generational blessings would flow down upon them. That they would be filled with your spirit and full of your power and authority and that their testimonies of your goodness would change the world. Amen.
