Terry Fox
Every year, TAISM holds an annual Terry Fox run. I had never heard of Terry Fox before moving here, but he was a Canadian who had cancer and had his leg amputated as a result. In order to raise money and awareness he set a goal of running across Canada. He ran almost a marathon per day on an artificial leg for 143 days until the cancer came back — he died in 1981.
More info on Terry Fox can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Fox
Now schools and organizations hold Terry Fox runs all over the world to raise money for cancer research.

After the big news last night, today was spent googling, planning and thinking. Since I haven’t sorted out my thoughts yet, here’s a video for Eli, Faith, and Jack who always ask for videos.
I heard a clomping noise coming down the hallway and she came around the corner wearing those cleats.
