the gospel according to bob

During our Bible study time yesterday I was reviewing the story of Jesus’ first miracle to see if Caleb remembered the important details:
Me: So what happened at the wedding?
Bob: I don’t know.
Me: Remember, they were drinking something . . .
Bob: Oh, yeah. Wine. They ran out of wine.
Me: And what did Jesus do?
Bob: Leave.

Cue Calvin, Carter and me laughing until we cried at the picture of Jesus leaving a party because there was no more wine to drink.

why I love my husband . . .

I was thinking the other night that if Camille marries a man who treats her as well as her daddy treats me, she will be a lucky woman.

He cooks dinner more often than I do — and I eat like a queen as a result!
He holds and wears the baby, even when she’s fussy.
He changes diapers, gives baths, and does everything but nurse the baby.
He lets the boys sleep on his side of the bed.
He willingly goes to the grocery store when we’re running low on food — and takes a kid or 2 with him.
He goes from making a gourmet dinner to teaching the boys how to properly kick a soccer ball.
He willingly watches Project Runway and other girly shows with me like Make It or Break It and Army Wives.
He lets me have the remote 100% of the time.
He takes the kids to the ER when there is an injury that he can’t fix himself.
He can fix a lot of cuts/hurts himself that would send me running to the ER.
He’s better at picking out outfits for me and usually can solve an “I have nothing to wear” crisis.
He is a technical genius and fixes all my computer, phone, DVR, ipod and other techie problems.
He is a budding mechanic and has fixed many of our car problems using his persistence paired with his auto repair manual.
He seems to have endless energy to keep going and going whenever things need to be done. He never quits.
On our 13th anniversary, I think, “it’s been longer than that, hasn’t it?” and mean it in a good way. Hoping we have many more great years together, babe!
